Another Tiring Week

Last week was also another busy and tiring week for me. I had so many things to deal with, tasks, assignments, marching practice, English Language society and finally, the ‘I Gaya, I Malaysia’  run. Sometimes, I feel like 24 hours a day is not enough for me to do all my things. But, I realise that it is not the quantity of time that matters, but the way we manage our things is far more important. Most importantly, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
I am really engrossed to write about the ‘1 Gaya, 1Malaysia’ event, where all the participants needed to run for about 5 KM for boys and 3 KM for girls. Actually, I did not want to participate in this event at first. But, due to some administrative matters, I had to join although to be frank, I was half- hearted.
Talking about the run, I managed to finish the run! Let me repeat it, I FINISHED THE RUN! Although I was not the first to cross the finishing line but at least I FINISHED it and I was not the last one to arrive. It was quite a satisfaction actually when you reached the finishing line because before the run, I did not think I was able to do it. I then realised that in order to achieve something great, we need to be positive and believe in our abilities.
All the tired faces after finishing the run.

P/s: The exam is coming and all the assignments need to be handed in.

What a Busy Week

Last week was a very hectic and exhausting week for me at IPG Kampus Gaya. Marching practice, sports, tasks and Readers’ Theatre were among the things that I needed to juggle throughout the week. But, the most memorable event for me was the Readers’ Theatre, for sure.
This is the competition.
Readers’ Theatre is a competition in which the participants need to showcase their reading skill together with their presentation ability. Personally, I think that this kind of competition is very beneficial and useful for us, the future English teachers as we shall need these skills when we are teaching later on at the school.
This competition had also embarked a new experience for me. For the first time in my life, I became an emcee for such a big event. It was very intimidating at first as I did not have any experience in this matter. Also, it was my batch's maiden event at the IPG, so the expectation  was quite high. But then, I took up the challenge and I tried my best to do my part. Alhamdulillah, after a series of strenuous rehearsal sessions, I was so happy and satisfied as everything went well on the competition day.

This is me and my partner for the night, Dyanne.

This is the champion @ my classmates, Raidah and Jeannette. Congratulations girls!
Only then, I realised that in order to learn novel things, we need to experience them and we must not be afraid to try them out. From this event, I have learnt that in order to produce something big and marvellous, practices, team work and also patience are very much needed. Last not least, I believe that we need to challenge ourselves to do something out of our comfort zone, do something new and experience the inexperienced as to discover our hidden talents and potentials that we might not realise before.

These are the backbones of the competition. Well done, guys! I am really proud of you all.

Rude Drivers

Yesterday, I used the UMS- Sulaman Road on my way back from the city. It was around 5.30 in the afternoon, so the road was very congested and jammed.
What really annoyed me was when I saw a few irresponsible drivers or if I can say ignorant drivers, whom used the emergency lane on the left side of the road to overtake other cars at the traffic light. To me, these kind of people were very rude and impatient. Of course, it was peak hour, so the road was very congested, but why they just could not be patient and abide by the law. If others could do so, why not them, right? Did not their driving tutor teach them the right rules and ethics of driving when they took their driving course before? Everyone wanted to reach home as fast as we could, but please be patient and considerate next time.
Another thing really irritates me when it comes to drivers’ behaviour on the road is when people drive very slowly on the right lane. The right lane is a fast lane and is used to overtake others, if you drive very slowly on the right lane, you might disturb traffic flow and cause a massive traffic jam. What I want to convey here is not telling you to drive really fast on the road, but please use the suitable lane every time you drive. If you want to drive slowly and maybe you want to enjoy the view, please use the left lane. But then, do not drive really slowly on the road as you might cause other drivers to become really annoyed with you, drive within the speed limit permitted.

Misunderstanding Occurs

“Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.” - Albert Schweitzer
Misunderstanding does happen in our daily life, does not matter whether we want it or not. Very often, I always try my best to be nice with people around me or even with people that I have just met. I will my best not to hurt their feelings and at the same time, I would help them the best that I can without even hoping them to requite what I have done for them. This is because I feel very happy and satisfied every time I am able to help other people.
But, that does not mean that I will sacrifice my principles and beliefs in order to please everyone. I do not want to masquerade just to make others feel happy. I am a very opinionated and passionate about knowledge or any informational subjects.  If I am really engrossed with something, I will be very loud and bold in sharing my vantage point regarding that particular issue.
Unfortunately, some people, sometimes, misunderstood me and thought that I was just showing off my knowledge in front of people. To be frank, I was very disappointed by their interpretations and reaction towards me. I felt insulted and annoyed by them. I could feel from their cold reactions that they thought that I just wanted to show to everyone that I was the best. No, that was not true. I just wanted to share what I knew, my feelings and opinions about something.
Nevertheless, I never threw tantrums to them. I was still able to be patient and calm despite all the bad reactions they had given to me. I do not know till when I can withstand and be patient with their behaviours. To me, I do not care whether people want to talk bad about me or not. As long as I know what I am doing is right, I do not give a damn care to these folks. I do not want to be discouraged by them. What matters to me is myself.
Let us all remain positive, be happy and determined in pursuing our dreams and advocating our ideas. Do not let ourselves be discouraged or even undermined by any hiccup or obstacle that we might encounter in the future.
